Pizza Party Cookies

This pizza party- sugar cookie recipe is the easiest of all sugar cookie recipes, and makes for a great pizza party treat, after the actual pizza, or even before the pizza. When you eat these cookies are up to you, but every single nibble of these pizza party cookies will be surely delightful. This simple sugar cookie is easy to decorate, with royal icing, or even eat the sugar cookie without frosting- these cookies are a crowd pleaser! Whatever you are celebrating…be sure to not forget desssert!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar (small granules)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter (softened)
  • Splash of milk
  • Flour or powdered sugar (for rolling dough)

Preparation

    Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl and set aside.

    Beat butter and sugar together with a stand, or hand mixer until throughly mixed and light in color.

    Add milk and egg and beat until combined.

    On low speed, gradually add dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and salt) by spoonful until mixture pulls away from the sides of the bowl.

    Divide and roll dough until about 1/4 inch thick.

    Chill rolled dough on cookies sheets or a flat surface, in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours or until throughly chilled.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Sprinkle surface you are working the dough on with flour or powdered sugar.

    Lay dough out on powdered surface, and use cookie cutter to get desired shape.

    Remove and roll excess dough together and repeat the steps. Refrigerate again if necessary.

    Place CHILLED shapes onto greased or nonstick cookie sheet.

    Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges have started to brown.

    Remove pizza cookies from oven and let sit for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

    Only ice cookies that have completely cooled to ensure the icing stays in place.

    Ice, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, or serve warm.
